Summer in Sardinia

packaging design

This personal project is inspired by my recent trip to visit my uncles (Vito and Rita) in Sardinia. They live in Sant'Antioco, a peaceful little island in the very south of Sardinia, where they tend to their garden. From their lemon and myrtle trees, they make two delightful homemade liqueurs, typical of Sardinia: limoncello and mirto.

As is customary for warm-hearted southern Italians, they couldn't let us leave empty-handed. They generously gave us a large quantity of their homemade liqueur, which we then bottled into smaller bottles to share with relatives and friends.

I decided to turn this experience into a personal project by designing a special packaging. These labels feature simple, organic-style illustrations on the sides which resemble the ingredients, and a bold font for an overall contemporary and modern look that highlight the quality of the product. This way, I'll always have a tangible memory of our wonderful holiday with my aunt and uncle.
